The German manufacturer is currently testing the new 2021 VW Atlas SUV. According to officials, the upcoming three-row SUV will be refreshed, and it will introduce more changes inside. New VW Atlas will be available sometime this year for purchase. Moreover, at the same time, we can expect recently announced Atlas Cross Sport model.
VW Atlas is an attractive SUV that is excellently rated in the mid-size segment. So, with the new one, we can assume that there will be numerous exterior and interior updates. At this moment, there is no available information on what engine will power this SUV. However, from some gossip, the Atlas will use the same four-cylinder and V6 units as before.
2021 VW Atlas Looks Bolder on the First Rendering Photos
Some of the new renderings appear online and at first glance, the upcoming model is looking quite attractive. The forthcoming 2021 VW Atlas will be bolder, and it will look sharper than before. Furthermore, the three-row SUV will dominate on the front. The manufacturer added a new broader and larger grille. Also, we can see a new pair of LED headlights and daytime running lights that are revised and looking like hockey-stick shape.
On the back, the VW Atlas will get a reshaped LED taillights with a brand-new pattering. The rear bumper is attractive, and it looks almost the same as on the Cross Sport model.
Interior Details
The cabin of the approaching 2021 VW Atlas has not yet been revealed. At this moment, there are no images to describe luxury inside. However, from the latest gossip, the new model will use almost the same pattern as the Cross Sport model.
So, we can expect the same D-shaped steering wheel and leather seats on the upper trim levels. Comfort is guaranteed, and we can assume a way better cargo space. The tech inside will also be better with an updated infotainment system and some borrowed features from Cross Sport.
Volkswagen Will Keep the Same Engines
According to the latest rumors, the German manufacturer will probably use the same engine lineup as in the current model. So, the upcoming 2021 VW Atlas will use the base 2.0-liter turbo-four that is producing 235 horsepower. The base model comes with a standard front-wheel-drive system.
Optionally, the buyers can go for a stronger 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 275 hp. We are anticipating a more powerful engine on the newly announced Cross Sport model. Both powertrains will send power through 8-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, towing capability is also great, and Atlas can maximum tow of 5,550 pounds. Interestingly, the manufacturer didn’t reveal any possible hybrid powertrain.
2021 VW Atlas Price and Release Date
The newest three-row SUV 2021 VW Atlas will be attractive and the manufacturer will make it even better than before. So, because of that, the price will be higher this time.
Exact pricing details are not available, but from some expert’s view, the upcoming Atlas price will not drop below $30,000. Basically, if you go for a range-topping trim level, the price will go up to $46,000. The new model of Atlas will be available to purchase in the summer this year.
