The new three-row, seven-passenger SUV is caught testing in Colorado with mild camouflage. Some of the parts are not visible on the spied model like a front clip, fender/door accent, rear bumper, taillights, and part of the hatch.
According to some recent news, the upcoming model may borrow many design cues from 2020 LaCrosse. So, we can expect almost similar grille, headlights, front/rear fascias, and some interior features.
2021 Buick Enclave Design
The third-generation 2021 Buick Enclave has been spied and the manufacturer added new styling. At first glance, the upcoming model will get a mid-cycle refresh for the following year. The test mule that is caught in Colorado is wearing camouflage on some body parts. Like before, this SUV will continue to rides on GM’s C1 platform. This platform is also used on many GM three-row SUVs such as the Cadillac XT5, GMC Acadia, and Chevy Blazer.
As we already mentioned, the new Buick Enclave will use many cues from the 2020 LaCrosse sedan. The upcoming model will borrow similar grille, headlights, front and rear fascias, and more.
Inside the Cabin
Design tweaks inside of 2021 Buick Enclave will be minimal. However, some refreshments will happen and the interior will be updated. Moreover, like before, the Enclave will provide techy and upscale cabin. According to the latest images, the dashboard of this SUV is covered, and this indicates that significant updates will happen. Like the exterior, the interior will be also the same as in LaCrosse.
The quality materials will be all over, and thanks to that, the new model will be more competitive than before. We must mention that the current model doesn’t offer enough in terms of standard active safety features, but according to officials, this department will be significantly improved. So, we can expect Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Child Safety Locks, Line Assist and more features.
Powertrain Specs
The powertrain of 2021 Buick Enclave is still a mystery. From some rumors, the new model will keep the same engine as the current one. The current model comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 302-horsepower (225-kilowatt). This powertrain routes power to the front or all four wheels through the nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates (city and highway) fuel economy of 18/26 mpg for the model that uses FWD and 17/25 mpg with an AWD system. The essential towing capacity is 1,500 pounds and can be increased to 5,000 pounds with the optional trailer towing package.
2021 Buick Enclave Release Date and Price
The upcoming midsize 3-row crossover SUV 2021 Buick Enclave will be available to dealerships in the last quarter of this year. Because of a mid-cycle refresh, we can expect the same price range as before.
The current base model has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $40,000, while the range-topping Avenir trim level starts little less than $55,000. Acura RDX, Infiniti QX60, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90 are the main contenders of the new 2021 Buick Enclave.
