The upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R is the first-ever hybrid R model from VW. This model looks cool and we like everything about it.
According to the latest news, the new R model will use the same powertrain as the recently spied Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. It packs a turbocharged V-6 combined with an electric motor. This combination delivers impressive 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the Touareg R will not be available for sale on U.S. soil.

The forthcoming 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R will enter the market with an enhanced look compared to classic Touareg models. Like many SUVs on the market, the Touareg rides on famous MLB architecture. If you didn’t know, this platform also underpins Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid.
In terms of design, the Touareg R features very aggressive styling thanks to the radiator grille with black trim strips and LED matrix headlights. Other visible exterior equipment includes R-style bumpers, 20-inch Braga alloy wheels, darkened LED taillight, and trapezoidal design tailpipes.

The upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Touareg R is a powerful SUV that will use a hybrid system. This model deploys a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine and electric motor. According to the latest information, this model will be able to deliver an astonishing output of 456 horsepower. Besides, it features a big 14.1-kWh battery pack that sits under the rear luggage compartment. Moreover, this mill will be connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and it will use an all-wheel-drive system.
If you remember, Bentley Bentayga hybrid uses a similar powertrain. However, compared to Touareg R, it provides fewer horses. Generally, Bentley Bentayga offers a 17.3-kWh battery that can give 16 miles of electric motoring. As you can see, Bentley outrights the Touareg EV range. Acceleration of Touareg R will not be good as Bentley, but it will be acceptable. This model from 0 to 60 mph will accelerate in just 5.2 seconds.
