2021 Toyota C-HR Is Aimed for a Younger Population

One of the most subcompact crossovers on the market right now is definitively the new 2021 Toyota C-HR. This Japanese model will be redesigned and it will also be available in the United States.

First things first, the upcoming Toyota C-HR will get a couple of visual revisions and the interior will host more quality materials. Like before, we can expect better performances, more safety features, and even more techs inside. Under the hood, this model is powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that also powers the previous generation.

2021 Toyota C-HR Provides Odd Design

As we already have mentioned, the upcoming 2021 Toyota C-HR comes with minor exterior changes. There will be here and there a couple of subtle modifications, and the Toyota C-HR will keep its original shape. The subcompact crossover looks very sharp and modern at the same time.

Aimed for a younger population, the 2021 Toyota C-HR blends the dimensions of a subcompact car with the ride height of an SUV. If we compare it to the Hyundai Kona or Honda HR-V, the latest C-HR certainly looks more expressive. It is fun-to-drive and the assurance was given by the numerous standard driver-safety assists. The standard package of aids this year includes forward automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams.

2021 Toyota C-HR Cabin

Interior Look

The cabin of 2021 Toyota C-HR will get minor improvements if we compare it to the current model. Most of the updates will include better technology and a few new optional driver-assistance aids. Besides that, the cabin layout largely remains the same as before.

Basically, we can for sure say that this model is a carryover. The cabin sports a design that’s less eye-catching than the exterior. The manufacturer used some diamond patterns on the dashboard, doors, and headliner, giving an extrovert vibe.

Trim Features

The entry-level LE version comes with the advanced TSS-P driver aids that host more features. This trim also featured Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a self-dimming rearview mirror, an 8-inch touch-screen display, a 6-speaker stereo with SiriusXM satellite radio, tilt/telescopic steering wheel and selectable driving modes.

Choosing for an XLE trim, the buyers will get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry/ignition, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The most range-topping trim Limited brings leather upholstery, an 8-way-power driver’s seat, and heated front seats.

2021 Toyota C-HR Engine Specs

Unfortunately, the upcoming 2021 Toyota C-HR will continue to use its aging powertrain. This subcompact crossover comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque. This engine is the only option and it comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Like the previous C-HR, the new one is one of a rare in the segment that isn’t offering an all-wheel-drive system. According to some rumors, the fuel economy will be better than before, thanks to an advanced stop/start system. As you may already know, C-HR is an efficient crossover. The current model provides 27 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Price and Release Date

The new model 2021 Toyota C-HR is the compact SUV that will be facelifted. Like before, this SUV is available in base LE, XLE, and range-topping Limited trim levels. The base LE version will start at $22,000, while the range-topping model Limited costs over $27,000. The sales of 2021 Toyota C-HR  will begin later this year.

The latest 2021 Toyota C-HR is the SUV that will compete in the same segment with many other models. For instance, Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Kicks are the main ones. Both models are offering better fuel economy figures. Moreover, in the same segment are models Jeep Renegade, Subaru Crosstrek, Honda HR-V, and Kia Soul.
