For those who are in a market for a large, spacious, and fun to drive SUV, then the Nissan Pathfinder should be on your option on the list. It features a powerful engine and it has become more fuel efficient than the previous generations. It is loaded with many user-friendly features and the safety has been upgraded with the outgoing, 2018 model year. The 2017 model year has been fully overhauled getting more power under the hood and improved safety systems. However, the 2018 version has carried on with the improvements in the safety department and has gotten the new rear door alert and automatic emergency braking as standard. So, since the Pathfinder is relatively new and improved in many segments, the upcoming 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will most likely be a carryover. Of course, some tech upgrades could be expected even now.
The upcoming Pathfinder will be available in several trims as its forerunner. Those are S, SV, SL, and Platinum models. There shouldn’t be changes both inside and out and also under the hood. It will compete against Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, VW Atlas, Honda Pilot, and Mazda CX-9.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder
There won’t be any updates of the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder under the hood. It will keep with the same engine as the current model and it is a 3.5-liter V-6 which will power all the versions. This engine is able to develop 284 horses and 259 pound-feet of torque. It works with a continuously variable transmission and the front-wheel drive is standard. However, it will also be offered with all-wheel drive configuration. Speaking of the fuel economy, it is rated at 20/27 mpg with front-wheel while with all-wheel drive it gets 19/26 mpg in the city/highway drive.
Exterior and interior design
Since it has been refreshed two years ago, the newest 2019 Nissan Pathfinder probably won’t feature any cosmetic changes. It is known for its conservative styling and with revised V-motion grille and more curves, it looks more modern. As well, with a revised bumper, the Pathfinder has gotten a bolder appearance.
What families love the most about this model is its spacious cabin and generous cargo space. Its interior is very functional and comfortable too. It is able to welcome 7 passengers in three rows of seats and the third row is the best for children. The second and the third row of seats can also be folded down which significantly increases the cargo space.
As for the equipment, all the models are filled with cloth upholstery, a 4.0-inch driver information system, 4 USB ports, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Bluetooth, and keyless ignition. In the SV trim, there will also be a remote start, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking assist, blind-spot monitors, etc. The SL will add navigation, surround-view camera, leather upholstery, power liftgate, heated front seats, rear cross-traffic alert, and so on. The Platinum will also include 20-inch wheels, heated and cooled front seats, premium audio system, dual-pane moonroof and others.
Release date and price of the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder
We are still not informed when the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder will appear. The price will probably stay similar and its starting price is around $31,000.
