The 2018 year has brought many changes for Lincoln’s full-size SUV, the Navigator model. The 2018 version has been completely overhauled and the current Navigator looks better than ever with no doubt. Although it shares many characteristics with the Ford Expedition such as platform, the Navigator is simply more stylish and luxurious. As well, they basically have the same side profile but here all other similarities stop. The Navigator features more dramatic and distinctive styling and it is available as the standard and a long-wheelbase version called the Navigator L. The current version has also received upgrades under the hood featuring a stronger performance. The interior also looks very luxurious and elegant and there are a handful of latest technologies. Furthermore, the space inside the cabin is excellent which makes it very appealing to the larger families.
So, given its recent complete redesign, the upcoming 2019 Lincoln Navigator will most likely remain the same and we don’t anticipate any changes this time. It should be available in same trim levels as the current version and which include the base Premiere, Select, Reserve, and Black Label models.
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator powertrain and fuel economy
Under the hood of the 2019 Lincoln Navigator will be placed the same unit as in the current. And there is one option for all the versions. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged engine. This unit is capable of making 450 horses and 510 lb-ft of torque. It is matched to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It comes available with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive systems. Moreover, it is able to tow up to 8,700 pounds.
The standard-wheelbase with rear-wheel drive is rated at 16 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. The Navigator L gets 16/22/18 mpg while the Navigator L with all-wheel drive is estimated to be 16/21/18 mpg in the city/highway/combined.
Design of exterior and interior
For 2018, the Navigator has gotten a completely new look with the new design of the grille, more upright body, and nicer lines. So, the 2019 Lincoln Navigator will continue with this look. The most noticeable change is the new large mesh grille and massive headlamps with LED lighting. There is also the Lincoln badge in the middle of the grille and which is lightened up by LED light.
The interior of the 2019 Lincoln Navigator mixes luxury, modern, and elegant. It is very spacious and the third row can welcome even three adults comfortably. The cargo space is also great, especially in the Navigator L model. The dashboard features a large 10-inch touchscreen for infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
As for the equipment, all models come standard with automatic climate control, navigation, a power tailgate, leather, power features, 20-inch wheels etc. The Select adds 22-inch wheels, surround-view cameras, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and cooled front seats. The Reserve also includes a panoramic roof while the Black Label also features audio with 20 speakers, safety package, and so on.
Release date and price
The price should stay the same as before. And it starts at around $73,000 while the Black Label trim will go up to $99,000. We expect the 2019 Lincoln Navigator to arrive sometime in the end of 2018.
