2024 Lincoln Aviator EV: Electric SUV Specs and Release Date

The Aviator was re-introduced a couple of years ago and now is a mid-size crossover that competes in the segment of 3-row family haulers. We have no doubt it will remain in production for several more years but Ford’s luxury division is already working on the all-electric iteration. That model is expected to come as the 2024 Lincoln Aviator EV and despite that the officials are still quiet, there’s a big chance to see it already in the next year.

At this point, it’s hard to talk about details but some things are quite easy to predict. This particularly refers to the platform, as well as to the battery components. These will most likely be shared with the Mustang Mach-E. On the other hand, the Aviator will come with its exclusive design, much more luxury on the inside etc. Moreover, it could even offer a more spacious third row than the standard, gasoline-powered model.

2024 Lincoln Aviator EV Design

Of course, the first thing we should discuss is the overall design, and that primarily refers to the platform. Naturally, this model won’t ride on the same CD6 platform as the gasoline-powered Aviator. Instead, we expect to see the new GE1 architecture, which debuted with the Mustang Mach-E. This model will probably serve as the basis for the electric Aviator in some way, particularly in terms of the battery setup. Still, the 2024 Lincoln Aviator EV will be slightly bigger, probably with a few more inches in the wheelbase.

Naturally, we also have big expectations regarding styling. The gasoline model looks really nice and it will be really interesting to see this design language in the EV suit. We presume that the overall aesthetical approach would remain very similar. Of course, count lots of details that will accentuate the model’s all-electric nature.

Interior

We expect that the 2024 Lincoln Aviator EV will be way more luxurious than the Mach-E, which already looks pretty decent from the inside. Of course, it would be great to see or similar dashboard from the gasoline model. Still, we count on some differences as well. What this actually means, it’s hard to say. Still, we have no doubt that the company will offer a competitive cabin design, with fine materials and great build quality. A long list of tech features is another certain thing about the Aviator EV.

As we’ve just mentioned, this SUV should feature bigger dimensions compared to the all-electric Mustang. We presume that the wheelbase will go around 120 inches, which would be enough to provide enough passenger space in all three rows. Naturally, the cargo area should also come up with respectable numbers for this class.

2024 Lincoln Aviator EV Powertrain

Just like it was mentioned, it is expected that the 2024 Lincoln Aviator EV will share battery and electric motors with the Mach-E. Still, we don’t believe that a 3-row SUV like this will come with the same 68-kWh battery pack the base Mustang comes with. Instead, base models should come standard with a bigger 88 kWh battery. The company could also offer something bigger as an option.

We presume that the base version will come with an RWD setup. It will come with an electric motor that puts out around 290 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. That seems enough to satisfy most drivers. For those who look for something peppier, the company will probably prepare an AWD version with 346 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, we expect to see a high-performance version, which would probably feature the same setup as the Mustang GT, which puts out 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. That should be enough to move this SUV from zero to sixty in about four seconds.

Fuel Economy and Range

As we already mentioned, base models will probably come with an 88-kWh battery pack. We believe that these versions will be able to make between 250 and 300 miles. When it comes to efficiency, all versions should be able to make between 33 and 36 kW per 100 miles.

As we are talking about electric vehicles, let’s use MPGe numbers to better understand the overall efficiency. This would mean that the new Aviator would be able to return between 93 and 103 MPGe in a combined ride, depending on the version you pick.

2024 Lincoln Aviator EV Release Date and Price

The officials are still quiet about the 2024 Lincoln Aviator EV but if we can rely on unofficial reports, this model could happen already in the second half of the next year. Also, it’s still early to talk about the price. Still, we are pretty sure that the base model will cost way more than the base gasoline-powered Aviator, which starts at around 55.000 dollars. Some sources suggest that the all-electric Aviator could feature a starting price of about 70.000 dollars.
