2019 Ford Expedition: Platinum, Max, Price

The Ford Expedition is the full-size SUV which delivers plenty of room inside, great power, and excellent towing capabilities. This model has been completely revised for the 2018 model year when it has gotten upgrades in every front.  There is also the newest 2019 Ford Expedition but this version will most likely be a carryover.

Engine and performance of the 2019 Ford Expedition

One engine option will be available for the newest 2019 Ford Expedition as before. It is the same 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbo Ecoboost engine. This unit is able to make 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. However, in the Platinum trim level, this engine will be stronger and will be able to deliver 400 horses and 480 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission which has been first introduced in the 2018 model year. Furthermore, it is available with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive systems.

When connected to all-wheel drive system, it gets 17 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. The rear-wheel drive option is rated at 17/24 mpg. The Expedition Max model with AWD is estimated to be 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. The Max RWD variant is rated at 17/23 mpg in the city/highway drive.

The exterior design of the 2019 Ford Expedition

This model has been fully overhauled for 2018, so the 2019 Ford Expedition won’t get any changes in the terms of external appearance. The Ford Expedition is based on the Ford F-150 pickup truck so they definitively have some similarities in styling. But it also features a more SUV shape and it looks like a larger version of the Explorer and Flex models since they share many design cues.

The 2018 model year has gotten a new design of the grille with unique pattern and C-shaped headlamps similar to the ones found in other Ford’s pickups. The rear end will wear LED taillights which will have the similar shape as the ones in Ford Explorer. As well, there will be a large “Expedition” insignia in the middle of the rear end, the same detail found in Explorer. Furthermore, the Platinum version will get more chrome details. There is also the Expedition Max model which features a longer wheelbase and offers more cargo space. The base model rides on the standard 18-inch wheel while the Platinum will be available with 22-inch wheels. The Limited model will use 20-inch alloys.

Design of interior

The interior of the 2019 Ford Expedition is built quality, nice looking, and very comfortable. All the materials used in its design are of premium quality. The cabin is very spacious too and there are three rows of seats which can accommodate up to seven passengers. All the seats are cozy, wide and provide plenty of room, even in the third row where can be placed larger adults without any discomfort.

The cargo space is also very good; and behind the third row, there is a room of 20.9 cubic feet while the Expedition provides the room of 20.9 cubes. If you fold down the third row, the standard model has the cargo room of 63.6 while the Max offers 79.6 cubic feet. As well, with the second and the third row both folded down, there is space of 104.6 cubes while the Max has 121.5 cubic feet of cargo. Generally, the cabin has a lot of space for storage and there are even 15 cupholders among which four are placed in the third row.
