2020 Honda CR-V: Redesign, Changes, Price

The well-known Honda carmaker is at the moment working on the new 2020 Honda CR-V which will most likely arrive at the market as a carryover, so we don’t expect any significant changes compared to the current model. On the engine front, the new CR-V will be available with two strong units and both will be able to tow up to 1,500 pounds. Its interior is quality, cozy and spacious and it will be available in several trim levels which will offer many modern features. Perhaps we could see some new color combinations inside but also a few more new exterior shades. Furthermore, the exterior should keep with the same attractive styling as before.

2020 Honda CR-V engines and performances

The brand-new 2020 Honda CR-V will come with two engines beneath the hood as its forerunner. So, the base is going to be a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged unit. This engine will have the output of 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. It will be mated to a CVT and will be offered with Front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The front-wheel drive model will get 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The AWD model is estimated to be 27/33 mpg in the city/highway drive.

The LX models will be also offered with a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine which will be able to make 184 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. The engine will work with a continuously variable transmission. And it will be available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive systems. Connected to front wheels, it will get 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model will be rated at 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Both engines will be able to tow up to 1,500 pounds.

The exterior design of the 2020 Honda CR-V

Design-wise, the Honda CR-V features an attractive and handsome styling and for the 2020 Honda CR-V, we don’t anticipate any large changes compared to the current model. The CR-V has gotten a more muscular and more aggressive look. The front end wears the familiar chrome grille and a pair of angular headlamps. The headlamps will be available with LED lighting in the higher trims. It provides good ground clearance, 7.8 inches for the FWD models while the all-wheel drive systems provide the ground clearance of 8.2 inches. The design of the wheels will get a more aggressive character too. The base models will ride on the 17-inch alloy wheels. However, the higher trim levels will get the larger 18-inch wheels which will also get a more premium design.

The design of the interior

Like before, the 2020 Honda CR-V will come with two rows of seats. And it will be able to place up to five passengers. All the seats are cozy and supportive and the second row can be folded down for more cargo space. The base models will come with standard cloth upholstery while the higher trim levels will get leather seats. As well, the more expensive models will get 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat. With all seats up, the CR-V has the room of 39.2 cubic feet. However, with the second row folded down, the room expands to 75.8 cubic feet. In the center of the dashboard, it will be placed a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity.
