The Infiniti QX60 is an elegant seven-passenger SUV which comes with a stylish exterior, spacious cabin, and plenty of standard and optional features. It is powered by a strong V-6 unit and provides excellent handling. The newest version of this model should arrive next year and it will be launched as 2020 Infiniti QX60. The new QX60 will use the same powerplant as before and we don’t anticipate changes in that front. However, it is expected to get more safety and infotainment features and the exterior might be refreshed with new colors and some small adjustments.
Engine and performance of the 2020 Infiniti QX60
Under the hood of the 2020 Infiniti QX60 will be placed one engine option and that it is the same unit which has powered the previous model. So, it is a 3.5-liter V-6 unit which is mated to a continuously variable transmission. This engine has the output of 295 horsepower and the torque of 270 pound-feet. It comes with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. As far as the fuel economy is concerned, the front-wheel drive model gets 20 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive variant is rated at 19 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The new Infiniti QX60 will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The exterior design of the 2020 Infiniti QX60
Like the previous models, the 2020 Infiniti QX60 will keep its attractive appearance with elegant shape and sleek design. The body is rounded and the front end is dominated by the brand’s well-known design of the grille and elongated headlamps. The profile will get the long chrome strips. And it will feature a slightly sloping roof which however doesn’t affect the interior space. Around back, the Infiniti comes with a power tailgate which is standard on every trim level. However, for the 2020 model year, we can expect some small changes to the lights and bumpers too. As well, the new Infiniti might also get some new designs of the wheels and perhaps some new exterior color shades. Furthermore, the base model will ride on the standard 18-inch wheels while the range-topping models will get the larger 20-inch wheels.
The interior design
The interior of the 2020 Infiniti QX60 is modern and spacious and comes with three rows of seats. All three rows provide excellent space but the third row is still the best for children. The access to the third row is easy since the second row can be moved forward. The seats are comfortable and supportive too, especially those in the first and the second row. In the base model, they are covered in leatherette while the higher trim levels will get real leather upholstery.
Furthermore, even the base model will be fitted with high quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. Speaking of the cargo space, with all seats up, there is the room of 16 cubic feet. With the third row folded down, the Infiniti QX60 offers the cargo space of 40.5 cubes. Moreover, with the second and the third row folded down, the room expands to maximum 76.5 cubic feet. In the center of the dashboard, there will be an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
The safety and equipment of the 2020 Infiniti QX60
The 2020 Infiniti QX60 will be available in three trim levels as the previous, 2019 model year. And those are the base, Luxe, and the range-topping Limited models. So, the base model will come standard with synthetic leather upholstery, five USB ports, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, heated and power-adjustable front seats, three-zone climate control, Bluetooth, push-button start, acoustic front windows, an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, AM/FM/CD audio system with 6 speakers, a power-folding side mirrors, a power liftgate, and a power moonroof. Among standard safety features, there will be blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, forward-emergency braking, etc.
The Luxe model will add navigation, Bose audio system with 15 speakers, leather upholstery, heated seats in the second row, ventilated front seats, Wi-Fi, auto high beams, a heated steering wheel, a moonroof, a motion-activated power liftgate, and an optional rear-seat entertainment and navigation. It will also offer many safety features such as intelligent cruise control, lane-departure warning and prevention and so on. The Limited model will get rear-seat entertainment, premium audio system, 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats, a power folding third row, heated and cooled seats, softer leather, a dual-pane sunroof, and leather-trimmed grab handles with contrast stitching.
Release date and price
There is still no official information about the release date of the new 2020 Infiniti QX60. But we are expecting to see it sometime next year, most likely in the second half of 2019. The price should stay close to the price of the outgoing model. And it starts at around $45,000 and goes up to $65,000.
