The brand-new 2020 Nissan Rogue is scheduled to hit the market next fall, and this time is expected to come with upgrades in almost every front. The exterior will most likely be revised for a more aggressive look and it could get new wheels and a few more colors. As well, the new Rogue could get autonomous driving technologies and more optional packages. However, it will come with two engines as before, including the hybrid unit as well.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Nissan Rogue
The 2020 Nissan Rogue will return with two engine options among which there is one hybrid unit. So, the base model will be powered by a 2.5-liter inline-4 unit. This unit will be able to make 170 horses and 175 lb-ft of torque. It will be mated to a continuously variable transmission and will be offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The front-wheel drive model will be rated at 26 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive variant will return 25 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined.
The next is a hybrid option which pairs a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine with an electric motor of 30kWh. The total output of this unit will be 176 horsepower. This engine will also be linked to a continuously variable transmission and comes with a choice between FWD and AWD configurations. Connected to front-wheel layout, it will get 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model is estimated to be 31 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
The exterior design of the 2020 Nissan Rogue
The Nissan Rogue features a modern and clean design with a tall body, clean and strong lines, and aggressive design of the wheels. The front end is dominated by the familiar V-motion grille and slim headlights. Around back, the Rogue features the taillights in the shape of a boomerang. The higher trim levels, the SV and SL models will get more chrome trim. And the motion-activated power rear liftgate will be optional. Furthermore, the more expensive models will be available with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, and a panoramic glass moonroof.
On the other hand, the 2020 Nissan Rogue might be slightly revised and might get some similar design cues from the Nissan Xmotion model. So, we can expect sharper lines, more pronounced bumpers, and larger air intakes. Moreover, it could also feature some new colors and new wheels.
The design of the interior
Inside, the 2020 Nissan Rogue is stylish and well designed: it is made of premium materials and soft-touch surfaces. It comes with two rows of seats and can welcome five passengers comfortably. The head and leg room are good in both rows and the second-row bench can slide fore to provide more room for passengers or for more cargo.
With all seats in the place, the Rouge has the cargo room of 39.3 cubic feet. With the second row folded down, it expands to a maximum of 70 cubic feet. However, the hybrid model will get a smaller cargo space. Furthermore, the base model is upholstered in cloth while the higher trim levels will get leather. In the center of the dashboard, there will be a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

Bluetooth, USB port, blind spot monitors, rear cross traffic safety alert, 17-inch wheels, automatic emergency braking, and active lane control. It will be offered with Special Edition Package which will get rear privacy glass, and heated seats and mirrors.
The SV model will add 18-inch wheels, an upgraded audio system, rear automatic braking, remote start, and power-adjustable driver’s seat. And it will be available with Sun and Sound Touring package which will offer a panoramic moonroof and LED headlights. Finally, the range-topping SL model will feature 19-inch wheels, leather seats, navigation, power-adjustable front seats, adaptive cruise control, premium audio system, a surround-view camera system, remote start, dual-zone climate control, and ProPilot Assist which will add many safety features.
