The most popular mid-size luxury SUV on the market has just been redesigned and it’s better than ever. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Lexus RX 350, which will represent the second production year of the generation will carry on in the same way. We expect to see the same design, though minor updates in terms of new standard features and similar things are always possible.
So, this lack of changes means that you may count on a lot of good things, starting from the new styling, which looks more mature than before. Also, we like the new turbocharged engine, as it offers a good mix of performance and efficiency. Furthermore, we like the model’s excellent build quality, as well as a pretty long list of standard safety and tech features. The ride is super comfy, while the new infotainment system is a little bit better than the previous one, though still far from perfect.
As there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Lexus RX 350 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will represent the second production year of the new, fifth generation. That’s why we are pretty sure that there will be no bigger changes. We count on the same design, which now brings more mature aesthetics but still offers a lot of Lexus’ typical solutions to attract old customers.
Besides the new aesthetics, the new generation also came with completely new mechanics, based on the new TNGA platform. The driving manners are way better, with more precise steering and an improved overall level of athleticism. Still, the RX 350 is still mostly about comfort and we really appreciate its gentle ride.
Interior
On the inside, you will find a typical Lexus in terms of quality. Everything s assembled extremely well, while there is also an impressive level of attention to detail. The selection of materials is also pretty impressive, so it’s no wonder that we think this is one of the nicest cabins in the class. All this quality is complemented by new tech features, including the new infotainment system.
While the level of build quality is impressive, we can’t say the same for the passenger space. While the front seats are among the best in the class, the second row, although spacious enough to accommodate adults with ease, still isn’t as spacious as some rival models, particularly the German competitors like Mercedes-Benz GLE or BMW X5. Things are even worse with the cargo volume, which goes around 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet of the total volume. The overall cargo volume is subpar even when compared to entry-level subcompact crossovers.
Features
The next year’s models shouldn’t bring more significant changes in this aspect. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like a 9.8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, six USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, keyless entry, push-button start, multi-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting. Among upgrades, expect to find things like a 14-inch touch screen, navigation, the Hey Lexus virtual assistant, a 21-speaker stereo, wireless device charging, a moonroof and a digital key app
When it comes to safety features, all models should come standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc,
2024 Lexus RX 350 Engine
The “350” designation doesn’t refer to the engine displacement anymore. Namely, the recent redesign has brought a big change under the hood, as the old V6 was replaced with the new turbo-four. The 2024 Lexus RX 350 will continue in the same way, with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out around 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.
Fuel Economy
The engine comes coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and offers good overall performance. Also, it offers good fuel economy, which goes up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is great for a mid-size SUV. Models with all-wheel drive are slightly thirstier and return around 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
2024 Lexus RX 350 Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2024 Lexus RX 350 sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 48.000 dollars.
