The coupe version of the popular SUV has been around for a while and it looks like it’s time for some updates. It is expected that the next model year will bring a so-called mid-cycle update, which would include various changes, primarily in terms of styling updates. This refers to all versions of the SUV, including the 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS. This trim level is one of the most popular choices among Cayenne buyers, as it is the most affordable version with a V8 engine and it comes with a pretty good balance between price and performance.
So, we presume that the next year’s model is about to bring some styling updates. Other than that, we presume it will come with additional standard equipment, while the overall layout is about to remain the same. Things under the hood probably won’t change.
2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS Design
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS is the same as any other Cayenne Coupe in the lineup. However, it comes with a couple of upgrades compared to standard models and that particularly refers to the suspension setup. This is the cheapest model that comes standard with air suspension. In lower trim levels, this is an option.
In terms of aesthetics, we expect some interesting novelties from the upcoming update. The test mule has been spotted on the road and it wears a bit of camouflage, mostly around lighting groups and a few more areas at the front. This clearly indicates that the changes will be subtle and that most of the design is about to remain unchanged. Of course, we expect to see things like new wheels and color options, as a part of this update.
When it comes to the interior design, we may see a few tweaks to the dashboard but, once again, most things will remain the same. Some sources speculate about the new infotainment screen and instrument cluster but we haven’t heard anything from the officials on this matter yet. Of course, there’s always a chance to see updates in terms of materials, color schemes etc.
On the other hand, the overall cabin layout will remain the same. So, you may count on a couple of rows of seats, where the front row offers plenty of space and excellent driving positions. Despite the coupe layout, the second row is also sufficient with space and accommodates adults with ease. On the other hand, the cargo area is pretty small, especially when compared to some other models in this class. In numbers, it offers around 22 cubic feet behind the second row and 54 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
Of course, we expect this update to bring a couple of new standard features. Still, most things should remain the same as in the current model. This particular trim level comes standard with goodies like leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, a 10-speaker hi-fi stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. The list of standard equipment also includes safety features like forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
Besides standard equipment, there are also several available standalone options, as well as a couple of optional packages. We presume that some of these things could become part of the standard equipment in the next year.
2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS Engine
We believe that the 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS won’t bring changes under the hood. Therefore, you may count on the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The GTS is the lowest trim that comes with eight cylinders and in this configuration, the engine puts out around 453 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque.
The engine comes coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive is also part of standard equipment. With this amount of power, AWD and launch control, this SUV hits 60 mpg pretty quickly, in just 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is 168 mph.
The powertrain is about to remain the same, so we expect that the fuel consumption will also remain unchanged. This SUV returns around 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. Considering the level of performance this SUV provides, we could say that these are quite decent ratings.
2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe GTS will arrive by the end f this year. The starting price should go around 118.000 dollars. When it comes to the competition, key rivals will be similar variants of models like BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Maserati Levante etc.
