2023 Audi Q7 Review: Release Date, Specs, and Price

Audi’s three-row SUV has been famous for its composed handling and well-executed interior and six years after the launch of the current generation, it is still competitive. That’s why the Ingolstadt carmaker isn’t rushing with the redesign. The next year will bring nothing but small updates, which will make this SUV even more appealing. The 2023 Audi Q7 will come with a more powerful base engine. Also, we are about to see new color options on the offer.

Other than that, things will remain the same. Therefore, we expect to see a familiar design and features, with a layout that offers composed handling, a luxurious cabin, lots of tech features and a high overall level of refinement. The engine lineup will include a couple of pretty capable units, while the main drawbacks will remain things like tight third row, small cargo area etc.

We expect to see the 2023 Audi Q7 sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Audi Q7 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, changes for the 2023 Audi Q7 will be minimal. We are about to see the same overall design, which has been around since 2016. This SUV rides on a good-old MLB platform and shares most parts with models like Audi Q8, as well as models like Porsche Cayenne. Although a pretty big three-row SUV, it’s pretty easy to drive and offers composed handling, with a decent dose of athleticism.

The biggest novelty for the next year, in terms of the exterior design, will be the introduction of three new color options. Those will be Waitomo Blue, Tamarind Brown, and Satellite Silver. The rest of the styling will remain pretty much the same, which means that you may count on a typical Audi design approach, with a full load of classic and conservative design solutions.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, the 2023 Audi Q7 will continue to deliver one of the nicest layouts in the class. Of course, the thing we like most is the build quality, which is excellent. Other than that, the materials are really nice, while we particularly like the combination of conservative aesthetics and advanced tech features, which looks really good.

When it comes to the passenger space, the first two rows are very generous and comfortable. They accommodate adults with ease and offer a high level of comfort. On the other hand, the third row is tight and works only for kids.

The cargo area offers around 14.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 35.7 cubic feet behind the second, and a maximum of 69.6 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is low for the class.

Features

This aspect shouldn’t bring bigger changes. So, base versions should come standard with goodies like a 10.1-inch upper touch screen, an 8.6-inch lower touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, navigation, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Among upgrades, expect to find goodies like quad-zone climate control, wireless device charging, a 19-speaker Bose stereo, and a 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

In terms of safety, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors etc. Among options, expect to find goodies like a surround-view camera,  night-vision camera, lane keep assist, intersection assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control etc.

2023 Audi Q7 Engines

The biggest novelty for the 2023 Audi Q7 is the new base engine. A 248-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four will get an update. The new version of this engine will feature a max output of around 261 horsepower and it will come coupled with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. On the other hand, the 3.0-liter V6 will continue in the same way, with a max output of 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, count on the SQ7 version, which will continue to use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, with a max output of 500 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque.

All three engines will come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel Economy

We still don’t know the ratings for the updated turbo-four but we are pretty sure that they won’t be significantly different compared to the current engine. Therefore, we count on something like 20 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The V6 returns around 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Finally, the SQ7 returns around 16 mpg urban and 21 mpg extra-urban.

2023 Audi Q7 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Audi Q7 in the last quarter of the year, with the starting price of around 60.000 dollars.
