Cadillac’s full-size 3-row luxury SUV, the Escalade, enters its sixth generation. The all-new 2022 Cadillac Escalade is arriving, and it should represent a huge technological leap compared to the current generation. For 2022, the most selling SUV will feature a greater cabin with the same seating layout as its predecessor. The current one offers seating for up to eight, with comfort in all three rows. To ensure that every passenger enjoys the ride, the manufacturer added more standard amenities.

However, like the outgoing version, the new one is powered by the same two engine options. The base Escalade uses a 6.2-liter V8 engine, while a 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder is offered on upper trims.

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is a handsome SUV that will gain some small modifications for 2022. No doubt, the new model looks more attractive, and the manufacturer has been mostly redesigned it on the front. It comes with unique vertical front lighting elements, horizontal LED headlights, twenty-two-inch alloy wheels, and a very massive grille.

On the back, the new SUV hosts a tall 3-dimensional taillights and a rear spoiler that hides the rear windshield wiper. Escalade Sport is the best option if you’re looking for something more eye-catching. This model features a black mesh grille and other black exterior trim elements.

Interior Upgrades

The newest 2022 Cadillac Escalade is one of the spacious and advanced SUVs on the market. This model offers up to 109.1 cubic feet of load space with the back rows folded. On top of that, opting for the extended-length ESV model, buyers will get no less than 126.6 cubic feet, which is best in the class. Generally, the cabin is stylish, featuring a new 38-inch curved dash display. The dash houses a 14.2-inch instrument cluster, an information touchscreen of 7.2-inch, and the mammoth 16.9-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Other standard features include navigation, four cameras, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated second-row seats, seven USB ports, and a 19-speaker AKG sound system. However, more amenities are available on the Platinum trim. Inside, you’ll find a semi-aniline leather interior, massaging front seats, 36 speakers, a rear entertainment system, and much more.

The list of standard driver assistance is longer than ever, and Escalade features a surround-vision camera, automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, and front and rear pedestrian alert. Besides, most of the trims also include an automated parking system, adaptive cruise control, and automatic reserve braking.

Under the hood, the forthcoming 2022 Cadillac Escalade will use a 6.2-liter V8 engine that is standard on all trims. This engine is potent, and it produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly, the entry-level model is available with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Primary thanks to this V8 powertrain, the Escalade can tow up to 8,200 pounds.

Besides this engine, Cadillac also offers a 3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder engine that generates 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Basically, if you’re looking for an efficient engine, this one is a great choice. According to the manufacturer, this engine delivers 23 miles per gallon combined, which is outstanding efficiency for this class.

Release Date and Price

The new 2022 Cadillac Escalade will arrive at dealers this fall to compete with models in the same segment like Chevy Suburban, Lincoln Navigator, and BMW X7. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but surely expect a slight increase over the previous model.

The current Cadillac Escalade cost $77,490 for the base trim before options. However, the upper trims like Premium Luxury Platinum and Sports Platinum start little less than $100k.
