The new redesigned 2021 Toyota Highlander according to the latest report will arrive next year. The Highlander model is very popular because it offers great design and powerful line of engines. The new model will get some updates both inside and outside. We must add that this SUV is one of the favorites to the large families, especially thanks to the three-row seats and plenty of space inside. The design will remain attractive and most of the cues will be borrowing from the best selling RAV4 crossover.
Under the hood, the Highlander will continue to be offered with both gasoline and hybrid engine options. However, there are some speculations, that manufacturer may add diesel powertrain.
2021 Toyota Highlander Spy Photos
The first spy photos of the 2021 Toyota Highlander are circulating over the web. Even though this model is camouflaged, most exterior changes are visible. However, unfortunately, there is no available image of the cabin. The 2021 Toyota Highlander will get some redesign. The all-new grille will be part of these modifications, and it will provide more attractive and curved lines. LED headlights are much thinner now as the fog lights.
At the back, the edgier design is present with new taillights that will use the same LED technology. As we already wrote, the interior images are not available at this moment. However, we can expect more luxury and sportier design than before.
The new colors will be introduced with the 2021 Toyota Highlander SUV. Also, the manufacturer will keep the current exterior color palette. So, we will get a colors choice that includes Midnight Black, Celestial Silver, Alumina Jade, and Blizzard Pearl. The premium colors Predawn Gray Mica, Ooh La La Rouge Mica, Salsa Red, Toasted Walnut and Shoreline Blue Pearl are also available.
2021 Toyota Highlander Engine
The all-new 2021 Toyota Highlander will continue to be offered with a 2.7-liter powertrain. The standard engine under this model is a four-cylinder capable to produce 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. It is connected to the new 6-speed automatic transmission. The optional and more powerful is a 3.5-liter V6. The great output is provided with this type of engine with better fuel economy. The optional engine generates 295 HP and 263 lb-ft of twist.
This naturally-aspirated unit will be equipped with the front-wheel-drive setup as standard. The much fluid 8-speed automatic gearbox comes with this engine.
The Hybrid version will be also available. The 2021 Toyota Highlander hybrid will hit the dealerships next year. According to the latest report, the hybrid model will come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit and with a pair of electric motors/generators. With the great capacity of the battery pack, this model will provide around 240 HP.
The manufacturer also promising at least 35 mpg fuel economy. Like the standard model, the hybrid variant will deploy a front-wheel-drive system as standard. However, one can equip Highlander Hybrid with an optional all-wheel-drive setup.
2021 Toyota Highlander Price and Release Date
The price of the upcoming 2021 Toyota Highlander will slightly rise. The new model with the standard package will start at around $33,500. However, the hybrid model will add to this price an additional $6.500 or a total of $40,000. Also, if one chooses the optional V6 engine, the price will rise $2000 more.
The most equipped trim Limited Platinum will keep the same price as before of $47,000. In the similar price range are models like Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, and Nissan Pathfinder. The new company’s flagship SUV will arrive later in 2020 as the 2021 model.
