One of the best rated compact crossover SUVs on the market is definitively Mazda CX – 3. The new model 2021 Mazda CX-3 is announced, and it will be refreshed for the next year. According to a reliable source, this popular Japanese small crossover will be more attractive and spacious than before.
Unfortunately, some departments will remain the same as before. With that, we mean that the same powertrain will be under the hood of the new model. This SUV comes with a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift Sport mode.
2021 Mazda CX-3 Design
The Japanese carmaker will redesign the new 2021 Mazda CX-3 in the following year. However, don’t expect drastic changes. According to Mazda, the new-generation CX-3 will be larger than the current model. Generally, that will be primarily thanks to the new platform. CX-3 will provide a sporty design that will be mostly borrowed from the Kai Concept model.
Like the popular hatchback Mazda3, the upcoming CX-3 will underpin the same platform. As we mentioned, this model will be larger than before and thanks to that it will move closer to rivals such as Hyundai Kona and Toyota C-HR. The interior will be similar to the Mazda CX-5. The new 2021 Mazda CX-3 will host two rows of seats and there is enough space for five passengers. However, this year will be more standard equipment. The entry-level Sport trim comes with black cloth upholstery, while the mid-level Touring provides simulated leather/suede seating surfaces. However, most luxury will be present on the range-topping Grand Touring models. This trim will feature real leather.
The standard package also includes a dash-mounted 7-inch monitor with a rearview camera, voice command, phone, and audio streaming, push-button start, USB port, tilt/telescope steering wheel, cruise control, power windows/locks, and keyless entry.
2021 Mazda CX-3 Powertrain
Under the hood of the newest 2021 Mazda CX-3 is the same powertrain as beneath predecessor. The current model is equipped with a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that produces 148 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. It`s connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift Sport mode. However, according to the latest news, this powertrain will be boosted under the new model. So, we can expect an even stronger output. Fuel economy will be also improved over the current one that provides 29/34 mpg (FWD), 27/32 mpg (AWD).
