The next-generation of legendary off-road model Land Rover Defender is coming. From the latest news, the forthcoming 2021 Land Rover Defender will offer more aggressive styling with undeniable capability and desirability. The new model will represent a modern twist on the legendary Defender from the previous generation. Generally, the new SUV will keep the same traditional retro styling with added more modern lines.

On top of that, this compact SUV is available with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is standard and a turbo inline-six-cylinder with a hybrid-assist feature as optional. The more exciting news is that all models come with all-wheel drive and a fully-independent suspension.

The facelifted version 2021 Land Rover Defender will be offered with two engine options. The first one is powered by a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of producing 296 horses and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Moreover, Defender is also available with a 3.0-liter inline-six with an electric supercharger 48-volt hybrid system. Thanks to this setup, this model produces 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The maximum towing capacity stands at 8,201 pounds, and both models above will use an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Release Date and Price

The new version 2021 Land Rover Defender will arrive later this year. This model will host plenty of improvements compared to the previous one. It’s also available with a mild hybrid system, which is a big plus.

Like the current model, the new one will cost the same. The current Defender has a starting MSRP of $49,900, plus a $1,025 destination charge. Also, upper trims like P300 S cost ($53,350), P400 SE ($62,250), P400 HSE ($68,350), P400 First Edition ($68,650), and X ($80,900).
