Plug-in Hybrid is also available. This engine consists of a 1.6-liter Atkinson cycle inline-4 that can make 185 horsepower. Under the rear bench, the manufacturer used a larger battery pack of 44.5-kW. Moreover, thanks to that, this model can go all-electric 26 miles. The combined fuel rate of the plug-in model is 46 mpg/105 MPGe.
All-Electric Model
The forthcoming 2021 Kia Niro EV is the most awaited model. It comes with a big 64-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. Combined, it delivers 201 horsepower and a 291 lb-ft of torque.
However, because it uses a big capacity battery, charging time on the wall outlet 120-volt is very slow. It takes around 59 hours. However, choosing a 220-volt charger, it needs only 9.5 hours to be fully charged. DC fast charger is also available and it can fill Niro EV to 80 percent in 1 hour and 15 minutes. This model can travel over 239 miles with a single charge.
