One of the smallest Blue Oval`s crossover 2021 Ford EcoSport is getting additional refreshments for the following year. The design of the new model will be more aggressive and from the first images, we can see numerous similarities with the Mustang model.
According to the latest news, the next-gen EcoSport will sit on the same platform that is used on the Ka and Figo models. Overall, this platform will get some modifications and the upcoming EcoSport will be larger than before.
2021 Ford EcoSport Design
The first images reveal that the upcoming 2021 Ford EcoSport will look more modern. There are many similarities with the latest Mustang Mach E model. However, this small crossover continuous to ride on the same platform that also underpinnings models like Ka and Figo. Most importantly, there will be some changes and this platform will be extended. So, the new Ford EcoSport will be bigger than before.
Basically, the shape of this crossover remains to be the same as before. Interestingly, the sloped roof is still there, and it gives to this crossover visually smaller proportion. The front fascia looks bolder and it uses some cues from the latest Mustang Mach E model.
It features almost the same front fascia. However, we can see that the manufacturer added a wider grille and new pair of LED headlights. The side profile also reveals an aggressive approach thanks to the new 16-inch painted wheels. On the back, the same mustang inspired LED taillights are present.
Cabin Updates
Inside, the new 2021 Ford EcoSport will introduce numerous upgrades. Most importantly, the Blue Oval will make a cabin more modernize. There will be more upscale materials and Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system will be updated.
The list of the standard features has been expended and this fantastic small crossover includes a large 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto plus connectivity, a rearview camera, power locks, and more. However, there will always be some optional amenities to choose from. The buyers can add optionally voice-activated navigation, ambient lighting, 110-volt outlet, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system.
Safety will also be better. Features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and lane-keep assist will now be a part of standard equipment.
Engine Options
The latest 2021 Ford EcoSport is the small crossover SUV that will be available with a few powertrains options. The standard model will be powered by a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 123 horses. This engine will be available only on the US soil.
Furthermore, in Europe, this model will be available with two engines. The first one is 2.0-liter gasoline that is capable of making 166 hp. However, the second one is a 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 120 horsepower. The manufacturer will use on all engines the same 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Interestingly, Blue Oval is mentioned, that we can expect this crossover shortly with electric powertrain or even a hybrid version.
2021 Ford EcoSport Price and Release Date
The all-new 2021 Ford EcoSport will be redesigned for the following year. This small crossover looks more attractive than ever before. Also, besides that, it will introduce more features and security. As you may know, more features and changes mean a higher price. According to the latest reports, the base trim level will starts at $25,000, which is $2000 more than before. However, going up to the upper trims price will easily pass the $30,000 mark.
As for the release date, it will definitely happen in the last quarter of this year. In the same segment are models such as Hyundai Creta and Buick Encore, which make them ideal competitors.
