2021 Chevy Traverse Gains New Look

The 2021 Chevy Traverse is ready for mid-cycle refreshments. Furthermore, the new model has been caught testing, and it will get a completely new look. From spy photos, it seems that Traverse will adopt a slightly more aggressive design than before, and its front end will be Blazer-like.

However, some parts of the caught model are visible, while camouflage covers the rest. Under the hood, as you may know, Chevy did drop the old 2.0-liter turbo option, and according to some websites, the manufacturer will use the latest 3.6-liter V6 engine that is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Traverse is an attractive, comfortable and capable family-sized crossover SUV that offers excellent value for invested money. Also, the styling of this SUV is based on the Blazer model and thanks to the new sculpted flanks, flared fenders, this model looks more athletic than before. Also, it looks fantastic with 20-inch aluminum wheels that are standard on all trims except the base L version.

Furthermore, buyers can also choose black grille, black badges, and other staff on the higher trims. A traverse RS Redline Edition model is also available. This model will look even more sporty than the base model thanks to exclusive red-tinged highlights and more blacked body parts.

What colors are available?

Traverse L is the base trim that will be available with two paint colors: white or black. Furthermore, choosing the LS trim buyers can get four colors. All eight paint colors that include Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Havana Brown Metallic, Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Pepperdust Metallic, Graphite Metallic, Cajun Red Tintcoat will be available on LT Cloth, LT Leather and the Premier.

The interior of this three-row SUV will be most likely redesigned. According to some reports, the Traverse model will be modern inside, and it will use most of the cues from the Blazer model. Most of the updates will be visible choosing the High Country trim. This model will offer piano-black accents, metal-look detailing and high-contrast Loft Brown leather.

The standard model will be also feature-rich and it includes reversing camera, Teen Driver safety technology, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Chevrolet Connected Access services through OnStar, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. However, optionally, you can get an 8-inch touch screen vs. 7-inch on standard, enhanced voice recognition, and premium SiriusXM 360L satellite radio.

Powertrain Specs

Under the hood, some changes will happen. The old turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is dropped and the manufacturer added a new and more powerful engine. The new 2021 Chevy Traverse will use a new 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower. This engine comes with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

Like before, the Traverse model comes with front wheels (FWD) system as standard, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is available on all trims except the L trim. From the latest statistic, the fuel economy of this model will be better. EPA fuel economy (city/highway/combined) is 18/27/21 mpg for (FWD) and 17/25/20 mpg for an (AWD).

The release date of the new 2021 Chevy Traverse is set for 2020. According to the latest report, this model may debut sometime in the middle of next year. The base price is affordable, and it only costs $30,995 including a destination charge of $1,195.

The upscale Premier cost ($46,995) and High Country ($52,095). These two trims are the most expensive versions. This model will compete against models Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, and Volkswagen Atlas.
