The new 2021 Audi Q2 has just been spied and it looks more attractive than before. From the spy images, we can see many changes and updates. The caught prototype is wearing a new face, and it is also revealing a unique headlight arrangement.
Besides outside updates, the famous Germans carmaker will also introduce some improvements inside. However, do not expect something significant, because upcoming Q2 will only bring mid-cycle refresh.
2021 Audi Q2 First Look
The first spy photos of the 2021 Audi Q2 appears and reveals some facelift. Furthermore, the entry-level crossover looks more aggressive and sporty than the first generation. It also features the new LED headlight system and shape.
We can see the front clusters are in line carrying the Four Rings, and the manufacturer added swanky dynamic turn signals that are becoming more common. The front and rear bumpers hide possible changes, but probably there won’t be any significant tweaks compared to the current Q2. The range-topping SQ2 model will also be available as the long-rumored RS Q2. Both once will feature more premium materials for sure.
Interior Rumors
It’s not yet clear what will be updated inside the new 2021 Audi Q2. According to the carmaker, there will be added more upscale materials. Also, we can expect many techs borrowed from the Q3 model.
On top of that, amenities will be updated if we compare them from the first generation. As we already mentioned, the new Q2 rides on the MQB platform and thanks to that, we can expect decent cargo space. This model offers two rows of seats, with enough legroom and headroom for five occupants. We like the new Audi’s iconic Virtual Cockpit and the two dual-screen infotainment system.
Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2021 Audi Q2 rides on the same platform as the small A1 model. According to the latest rumors, the next-gen Q2 will be most likely equipped with the same engines as the first generation. There will be a few engine options that include three gasoline and three diesel engines.
Moreover, the output will vary from 114 to 188 horsepower. The most potent option will be a 2.0-liter diesel engine that will be available with two different outputs. According to the manufacturer, one will produce 150 and stronger 200 horses. It will also be available with a more efficient dual-clutch transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. However, all other versions will come with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch S Tronic.
2021 Audi Q2 Release Date and Price
Finally, the recently spied 2021 Audi Q2 will go on sale later this year at the Paris Motor Show in early October. The new model will tweak some changes and it will slightly provide better performance than before. Q2 E-Tron is official and according to the carmaker, this model will provide 300 miles on a single charge.
Also, Audi SQ2 high-performance model should also be released at the same time as the other ones. The price of the next-gen 2021 Audi Q2 will start at $28,000. However, we are still waiting for more info about e-Tron and SQ2 models.
