This model will be sporty looking and dimensional it will be positioned between models XC60 and XC90. From the technical aspects, we can expect almost identical tech and safety to be available like in the XC90 model that is one of the safest on the planet right now.

2020 Volvo XC70 Design Details and Rumors

The upcoming 2020 Volvo XC70 is a sporty mid-size SUV that sits between XC60 and XC90 models. According to the official news, the XC70 model will be built on the new company`s SPA platform. With this platform, we can expect many changes. The most speculations over the internet are that this model will be wider and longer if we compare it with previous models.

So, we can expect a new refreshed look that will use many cues from the XC90 model. Also, dimensional the upcoming SUV will be smaller than XC90 and the slightly bigger than XC60. With the new platform, the XC70 model will also get a slightly more spacious cabin than the XC60 SUV.

Interior Will Be Premium

It is available with the front-wheel drive as the standard, while the all-wheel-drive remains optional. Also, this engine is very fuel efficient thanks to the start/stop system that is on the high-level. As for the transmission, the Volvo XC70 is expected to be equipped with the same eight-page automatic transmission as the models above.

The next engine on the list is a stronger T6. The same 2.0-liter is under the hood but it`s supercharged. The output of this engine is 316 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque. However, at this moment we don’t have information if this model will be available with both front wheel drive and all-wheel-drive systems. The transmission remains the same.

Hybrid Version and Towing Capacity

According to some gossip, this SUV may also get a hybrid T8 engine. This engine under the hood of the XC60 and XC90 produces more than 400 HP and 470 pound-feet of torque. Furthermore, in the case of XC60 and XC90 models both provide 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. However, we can expect the same or even higher rate for the XC70.

Arrival and Cost

The officials are confirmed that the 2020 Volvo XC70 will arrive sometimes in the year 2020. The price is still a mystery. However, from some information’s it won’t cost under $70,000 for the standard version. A plug-in hybrid T8 engine may also be available but we cannot predict its price.
