According to the images from the Geneva Motor Show, the new 2020 Volkswagen Touareg will be more attractive, strong and stylish this year. The V8 TDI model that is shown will keep the same beautiful lines as the standard one.
However, it will get some small modifications. Except for the new engine under the hood that is the strongest one from VW, the V8 model will also bring two new packages Elegance and Atmosphere. Both packages will add unique features to this SUV. According to the Company, the model with the V8 engine under the hood will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4,9 sec.
2020 Volkswagen Touareg Continue To Rides On The Popular MLB Platform
Year after year, this model is better and stronger. The new 2020 Volkswagen Touareg remains t0 sits on the popular MLB platform. Also, its design reminds us of some of the Audis models. The front of this SUV comes with large silver grille and the latest Matrix headlights.
From the information that we got, the V8 TDI will not separate too much from the standard version. This model will be fitted as standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, air suspension, an electric tailgate, stainless steel pedals, automated headlight operation, and automatic dimming wing mirrors. Also, the features as the night vision camera, four-wheel steering, a roll stabilization system will come as standard.

The standard features to the 2020 Touareg will include a 9.2-inch center touchscreen, gesture control, automatic climate control, while the optional is a massive 15-inch pinching/zooming/swiping touchscreen and the familiar 12.3-inch Active Info Display that shows all important information.
Mighty Engines Under the Hood
The new 2020 Volkswagen Touareg SUV will be available with few engine choices under the hood. According to the latest news, the luxurious Volkswagens SUV will be offered with four- and six-cylinder engines and the new V8 TDI. The first one that is expected is the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, the second one is a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V-6 and the 3.0-liter V-6.
Turbocharged V8
The new turbocharged 4.0-liter that is showed with the Touareg V8 TDI model in Geneva will be also optional and this engine makes 416 HP and 664 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is powering the SQ7 model. With this engine, the Touareg model will accelerate to 60 mph in 4,9 sec.
Hybrid Rumors
Also, there are rumors that will manufacturer offer a hybrid engine. From that statement, this engine will be a combination of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor. Also, the lithium-ion battery pack will be part of this model. We can expect that the hybrid model will provide much better fuel economy. However, the exact numbers are not yet available.
2020 Volkswagen Touareg Release Date and Price
As we already wrote, the upcoming model will be built on the second-generation MLB platform that is also in the models Q7 and the Porsche Cayenne.
This platform will bring many changes to this SUV. So, we can expect the increase and the starting price of around $50,000. The all-new crossover SUV will hit the markets in the first half of 2020.
