The carmaker is preparing a minor makeover of the newest 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC. So, this mid-cycle refresh will bring changes in almost every front. The exterior will be revised with a new front fascia and new grille and headlights while the interior will get new instrument cluster and an upgraded infotainment system. The engines will remain the same but it will be stronger than before.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will be available with several engines like its predecessor, but this time, we can expect increases in horsepower and performance. So, the base is going to be a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine which in the current model can make 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. However, this time, it will be stronger and will have the output of 255 horsepower. It will work with a 9-speed automatic transmission and the rear-wheel drive will be standard. However, the AWD will also be offered. Connected to front wheels, it gets 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
The next is a hybrid engine which will combine a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine with an electric motor of 85 kWh. The total output of this engine will be 320 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The engine will get a 7-speed automatic and the all-wheel drive system is base. As for the fuel consumption, it gets 24 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 56MPGe combined. It will have an all-electric range of 9 miles.
Furthermore, the GLC43 AMG model will be powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged engine. In the current model it can make 362 hp but for the 2020 model year, it will be able to produce 385 horses.
The exterior and interior redesign of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC
The Mercedes-Benz GLC has always been a good looking premium-compact-crossover SUV. But this time, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will get a mid-cycle refresh. So, this time, the new Mercedes will get some subtle revisions to the headlights and grille and there will also be the new LED daytime running lights. So, the whole front fascia will be slightly refreshed. Around back, we can also expect some changes such as revised taillights and bumper.
Furthermore, the interior of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC will also get some upgrades. So, there will be an upgraded infotainment system, however it won’t get an advanced dual-system screen which has been introduced in the newest A-Class. But instead, it will get the same system which is found in the new C-Class.
Moreover, we will also notice a larger screen in the center stack and a new steering wheel which will get some new controls. As well, we have noticed a larger screen at the top of the center stack and there will be a new touchpad placed in the center console.
Release date and price of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC is set to be presented to the world in the first half of this year. The price is not yet revealed, but we assume that it could be similar to the price of the current model which begins at around $40,500.
