2020 Lexus RX 350 and 350L: Redesign, Interior, Release Date

Sometime at the end of next year, the manufacturer will most likely reveal its new 2020 Lexus RX 350 and 350L models. This time, there won’t be changes considering engine, but it should get some small styling upgrades with some new colors and small details while the interior might get s few more tech features. Some new color combinations might also be offered.

The 2020 Lexus RX 350 and 350L will return with the same engine which powers the current model and there is one option for both version, but they will differ in performance. So, the 2020 Lexus RX 350 will be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 unit, This engine will also be found in the RX 350 F Sport model. And in both versions, it will be able to deliver 295 horses and 267 lb-ft of torque. It will be paired with 8-speed automatic transmission and will come with a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The front-wheel drive model will be rated at 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive model will get 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Furthermore, the 2020 Lexus RX 350L and 350L F Sport models will use the same engine as the standard model. However, since it will get a single exhaust outlet, unlike the standard RX 350 which has a dual setup, it will be slightly less powerful. So, it will be capable of making 290 horsepower and the torque of 267 lb-ft. It will use the same 8-speed automatic and two drivetrain options. So, the front-wheel drive model is estimated to be 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Connected to all, four wheels, it will be rated at 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

As for the external appearance, the 2020 Lexus RX 350 and 350L will keep up with its unique and angular styling as its predecessor. The whole body will feature sharp angles and a floating roof. The front end will wear the well-known spindle grille which will make it look bold and a pair of slim and sharp headlights. The RX 350L will be longer for 4.3 inches than the standard RX 350L but it will generally get the same design as the current model. The will also be the F Sport version for both models which will look even more aggressive because of the larger 20-inch  wheels and blacked-out C-pillars. However, this time, the 2020 Lexus RX 350 and RX 350L might get some new designs of the wheels, new exterior colors, and some new details.

The 2020 Lexus RX 350 will get a standard two-row seating configuration while the RX 350L will come with three rows of seats and will be able to place up to seven passengers. However, the second row will come with bench while the captain’s chair will be optional and will reduce the seating up for six occupants. However, the third row in the RX 350L is a bit tight, so it is the best for kids. Furthermore, like the exterior, the interior of the F Sport model will get more aggressive-looking seats and will be offered in several different colors. All the seats will be comfortable and are easy to access. The base model will get synthetic leather upholstery while the higher trims will get the real leather seats.

In the center of the dashboard, there will be an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. However, the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen will be optional.

The equipment

The standard equipment of the RX 350 model will include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, synthetic leather seats, power features, power front seats, Bluetooth, several USB ports, audio system with nine speakers, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The Premium package will also add roof rails, wood trim, real leather seats, and the Luxury package will get more quality leather, 20-inch wheels, and heated and ventilated front seats. Furthermore, the F Sport package will include unique wheels, sports seats, sports suspension, some new styling details, and more responsive steering. Some of the optional features will be a head-up display, Mark Levinson audio system with 15 speakers, a panoramic roof, and so on.

Release date and price

The new 2020 Lexus RX 350 and 350L should enter the dealerships sometime next year, most likely in the third quarter of 2019. The price should get much different from the current model and it begins at $45,000 while the RX 350L starts at around $49,000.
