The 2020 Lexus NX 300, Hybrid, F Sport will go on sale by the end of next year, and it is expected to get some subtle changes. So, the exterior styling will be revised and the cabin is expected to feature more features and color combinations. On the engine front, the NX will get two engine options including a hybrid unit.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Lexus NX 300, Hybrid and F Sport
Beneath the hood of the 2020 Lexus NX will be found several types of engines. So, the 2020 Lexus NX 300 and Hybrid models will be powered by the same engine but they will be rated differently considering fuel consumption while the NX Hybrid will feature its own hybrid engine.
And to start with the base 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine which will be used by the NX 300 and NX F Sport models. This unit will be able to make 235 horses and the torque of 258 lb-ft. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and will come with front-wheel drive system as standard. However, the all-wheel drive system will be available as well. This engine will be rated at 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway with both drivetrains. However, in the F Sport variant, it will get 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
On the other hand, the 2020 Lexus NX will also be offered with a hybrid engine. And this powertrain will combine a 2.5-liter inline-4 unit with an electric motor. The gasoline unit will be able to make 154 hp and 152 lb-ft of torque. The front electric motor will have the output of 141 hp while the rear one will be able to deliver 67 horses. So, the total output of this engine will be 194 horsepower. It will be linked to a continuously variable transmission and will come standard with the all-wheel drive system. Speaking of the fuel economy, it will get 33 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
The exterior design of the 2020 Lexus NX 300
The 2018 model year has gotten a few exterior changes including a revised grille, new headlights and taillights, but nothing large. So, the 2020 Lexus NX 300, Hybrid, and Sport models will continue with the familiar aggressive and attractive styling. On the front, we will notice a larger spindle grille and a pair of angular headlights and the LED daytime running lights in the shape of a boomerang. Around back, there will be nicely sculpted three-dimensional taillights and dual exhaust outlets. The F Sport model will get the larger grille, a lower body kit, more exterior details which will be most visible in bright blue and red colors, and the larger wheels as well.
The interior
The interior of the 2020 Lexus NX will be classy, elegant, and well equipped. All over the cabin, we will notice nice and quality materials and the cabin will be quiet. The front seats are highly comfortable, supportive, and power-adjustable. The F Sport model will get even better seats which will feature side bolstering. The standard model will feature the synthetic leather seats while the higher trim levels will get the real leather upholstery. The dashboard will be fitted with an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. As for the cargo space, with all seats up, it measures 17.7 cubic feet. And with the second row folded down, it expands to 54.6 cubes. The NX Hybrid model had the cargo room of 16.8 cubes and the maximum cargo room is 53.7 cubic feet.
The equipment of the 2020 Lexus NX 300, Hybrid, F Sport
The standard 2020 Lexus NX 300 will be generously equipped and will feature plenty of standard features. So, it will get 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient LED lighting, LED taillights and low beams, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry/ignition, satellite radio, 17-inch alloy wheels, and many advanced safety features. Those will include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic-beam headlights, and so on. The F Sport model will add sport seats, sport suspension, aluminum pedals, and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Furthermore, the NX 300h Hybrid will get Wi-Fi and a power adjustable steering column.
Some of the optional equipment will include a power sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, hands-free tailgate, heated steering wheel, leather seats, rear cross traffic alert, parking sensors, heated and ventilated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, etc. The navigation package will bring the Lexus Enform system, iHeartRadio, Bing, and other items.
Release date and price
We are expecting to see the new 2020 Lexus NX next year, and most likely in the second half of 2019. The pricing probably won’t differ much from the current which starts at around $36,000.
