2020 Kia XCeed Crossover Is Jacked Up Version of The Ceed Hatchback

After the great success of the planetary popular Kia Ceed hatchback and Sportswagon, the manufacturer decided to make the new 2020 Kia XCeed crossover that is based on the popular models above. The new model is a compact family car that will be made exclusively for Europe. Thanks to its dimensions, the new XCeed model will be positioned above the Stonic but below the Sportage models.

The all-new crossover will provide a unique look and many features inside. Besides the choice of five engines, the buyers will also get unforgivable comfort and a quiet cabin. Unfortunately, the all-wheel system is not available this time, only the FWD layout.

2020 Kia XCeed Design and Dimensions

The all-new 2020 Kia XCeed offers sportier look than the regular Ceed model. The upcoming SUV will be more aggressive and stylish. Also, dimensionally XCeed is 85 millimeters longer (at 4395 mm), 43 mm taller (at 1490 mm), and 26 mm wider (at 1826 mm) than the Ceed Hatchback.

The ground clearance is increased by 42 mm over the regular Ceed. Thanks to that the XCeed model will offer a great off-road experience. The front end of this SUV looks similar to the hatchback version. Also, the same shape of headlights are installed and gives great visual over the night. The rear is also stylish and unique with good looking bumper and exhaust system. Furthermore, the manufacturer reworked the spring rates by softening them up by 7% at the front and 4% at the back. This is important and with these changes, the new model will offer a more comfortable ride.

New 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Screen

The cabin of the 2020 Kia XCeed will be modern and stylish. The attractive lines are all over the interior. The Kia XCeed SUV is the first one from this manufacturer that will use a digital instrument binnacle, called Supervision.

The large 12.3-inch digital instrument screen is installed and it replaces the traditional analog speedometer. The high-resolution screen comes with a resolution of 1920×720-pixel and it offers the best experience ever. Also, the buyers can see information like turn-by-turn navigation directions, or info on phone calls, music, fuel economy range and other.

Under the Hood

The newest 2020 Kia XCeed will be offered with the same engines that are lying under the Kia Ceed model. There are three gasoline engines available a 1.0- and 1.4-liter turbocharged and a stronger 1.6-liter that has been seen on the model Ceed GT and Proceed GT.

The three-cylinder engine will be able to make 120 HP and 172 Newton-meters 127 pound-feet, while the other one makes 140 HP and 242 Nm (178 lb-ft). The stronger that is taken from the Ceed GT and Proceed GT will deliver 204 HP and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft). All versions will deploy a front wheel drive system for better fuel consumption.

Diesel Engine

The two diesel engine variants will be available as well. The 1.6-liter is offered and it makes 115 HP and 207 lb-ft with a manual gearbox. However, with the same engine and DCT, this model will keep the same output of 115 HP but will increase torque to 221 lb-ft.

The next diesel engine is boosted and is rated 136 HP and 207 lb-ft or 236 lb-ft with the DCT. Also, there is a rumor about hybrid and plug-in variants, however, this information is not yet confirmed by the officials.

2020 Kia XCeed Release Date and Price

The all-new 2020 Kia XCeed SUV will go on sale in Europe in the third quarter of this year. In the same time will be released the new Kia Niro model, that will get an all-electric version.

However, the price of the Xceed SUV is not yet available, but we can expect it to be in the range of the ProCeed GT model. The current ProCeed GT is priced at $25,000. With this price, the new model will rival Ford Escape, Skoda Kamiq, and Hyundai Kona.
