The Infiniti QX50 has been fully refreshed for the 2019 model year, so the recently announced 2020 Infiniti QX50 will most likely enter the showrooms with no changes. Its exterior now looks even better than before and it is available with large 20-inch wheels. The interior is at the top of the class with premium materials, good space, and excellent tech features. It will be available in three trim levels and there will be one engine option and a choice between FWD and AWD systems.
2020 Infiniti QX50 – Engine and performance
Speaking of the engine of the new 2020 Infiniti QX50, there will be no any changes applied. And the new Infiniti will continue with the same engine which powers the outgoing, 2019 model year. It is a well-known 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which will be used in all the trim levels. This unit is able to make 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. All the trim levels will use a continuously variable transmission. As well, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will be offered with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive systems. The front-wheel drive model is rated at 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Connected to all-wheel drive layout, this engine is estimated to be 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
Exterior Design
The new 2020 Infiniti QX50 will ride on the same front-wheel drive based platform which was new for the 2019 model year. In the terms of external appearance, we don’t anticipate any changes since this model has been refreshed for this year. So, we like its exterior which looks very handsome and attractive. However, the whole body features many angles which some might find no so appealing. Nevertheless, like all the other models in the lineup, we can recognize some mutual elements such as the dynamic design of the hood, double-arch grille, and prominent rear roof pillar kink. Both headlamps and taillights will be equipped with quality LED lighting. The base will ride on the standard 19-inch wheels while the higher trim levels will receive the larger 20-inch wheels.
The interior design of the 2020 Infiniti QX50
Inside the cabin, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will come with one of the best interior considering its price and class. The 2020 model year will also come as a carryover and there won’t be any changes seen this time. As well, we can say the same for the equipment, safety, and features.
So, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will come with two rows of seats and will be able to place up to five passengers. The space and the comfort of the front seats is very generous and they are adjustable and highly supportive. In the higher trim levels, they will be available with heating and cooling function and memory settings as well. The rear seats are also very good; and although they aren’t as cozy as the front ones, they provide excellent headroom. The base model will come with synthetic leather upholstery while the higher trims will get real leather. In the center of the dashboard, it will be placed double-screen including an 8.0-inch and 7.0-inch displays for the infotainment system, radio, navigation, and car settings. Unfortunately, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity won’t be available.
Furthermore, behind the rear seats, there is a cargo room of 31.4 cubic feet. However, if you fold down the second-row seats, the cargo expands to 64.4 cubes which is pretty generous.
Equipment and safety features
As before, the upcoming 2020 Infiniti QX50 will be available in three trim levels including Pure, Luxe, and Essential versions. The base Pure model will come standard with dual-zone climate control, 19-inch wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats, Bluetooth, keyless ignition, a dual-screen setup, 8.0-inch and 7.0-inch displays for the infotainment, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning.
The Luxe model will get a panoramic moonroof, and blind-spot monitors while the heated seats will be optional. Furthermore, the Essential model will add navigation, remote start, a motion-activated liftgate, and rear leather upholstery. As well, the Infiniti QX50 will get a few options and those will include Bose premium audio system, upgraded interior materials such as wood, 20-inch wheels, and more active safety systems. The ProPilot Assist package will add a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats as well.
The standard safety in all the models includes airbags for all occupants, a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and stability and traction control. There will also be two packages which will add parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, automatic parking, a head-up display, and so on.
