The Honda Pilot is a spacious and comfortable SUV which comes with excellent safety equipment and technology. This time, the new Pilot will also offer a hybrid engine which will be more fuel efficient. Visually, the new 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid should get some minor changes and it won’t be much different from the base model except the badging.
2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid engine and performance
The 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid will most likely get the same hybrid unit which powers the new Honda Accord model. And this powertrain uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit in combination with an electric motor. Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn’t yet revealed the exact performance and horsepower of this engine. However, we assume that it will get similar output as in the Honda Accord.
On the other hand, the standard Pilot will use the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine which is able to produce 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine will work with either 6-speed automatic or a 9-speed automatic transmission in the Touring and Elite models. Moreover, it will be offered with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
The exterior and interior design of the 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid
Visually, the 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid will keep up with the same overall shape which has become more rounded during the years. However, it still looks aggressive especially in front with revised grille and new LED headlights which look very attractive. Around back, there is more chrome and slightly refreshed taillight. The roof rails will be standard on the Touring and Elite models and which will give it a more utilitarian appearance. Furthermore, the 18-inch wheels will be standard while the range-topping trims will get the larger 20-inch rollers.
Inside the cabin, the 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid will get a standard three-row seating configuration and will be able to place seven or eight passengers. Most of the models will get a second-row bench which can be replaced by captain’s chairs. The base model will features cloth seats and a standard 5-inch display in the center of the dashboard. However, the more expensive models will get a more premium look and leather upholstery.
The equipment of the 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid
The 2020 Honda Pilot Hybrid will be available in several trim levels. So, the base will come standard with push-button start, Bluetooth connectivity, a 5-inch color display, Honda Sensing safety, and so on. The EX model will add a power adjustable driver’s seat, a new 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, three-zone climate control, heated front seats, blind-spot monitors, cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and so on.
Furthermore, the EX-L model will also include leather interior, power-adjustable front-passenger seat, moonroof, universal garage remote, acoustic windshield, and so on. The Touring model will get a premium audio system, parking sensors, blue ambient interior lighting, heated second row, roof rails, and an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot.
