2020 Honda HR-V: Design, Arrival, Price

If you’re in a market for an economical, cozy, and well-equipped small SUV, then you should check out the newest 2020 Honda HR-V model. The new HR-V might get a few changes this time and those could include some new exterior colors and new interior color combinations. However, the manufacturer will also offer the all-wheel drive configuration. The front-wheel drive system will get 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive system will be rated at 27 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

On the other hand, the 2020 Honda HR-V has been available with a 1.6-liter diesel engine for the European market. However, this time this unit might be replaced by a new hybrid powertrain. And it will most likely be a combination of a 1.5-liter gas engine and electric motor. This engine will work with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the base 1.5-liter VTEC model should remain the standard engine.

The exterior and interior design of the 2020 Honda HR-V

In terms of exterior design, the 2020 Honda HR-V will keep its basic shape and dimensions, with a coupe-like profile and a sloping roof. The front end now looks sportier with a revised grille and slightly restyled headlights. The standard model will ride on the 17-inch wheels while the Sport model will get the larger 18-inch wheels. Furthermore, the higher trim levels will also get a power moonroof and the roof rails will be standard on the Sport and higher trim levels.

The interior of the 2020 Honda HR-V is simple and elegant and made of soft-touch materials. The dashboard is fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. With all seats up, there is space room of 25 cubic feet. And with the rear seats folded down, it expands to 58.8 cubes.

The 2020 Honda HR-V will come standard with audio system with4 speakers, cruise control, a rearview camera, USB, Bluetooth, a 5-inch color display, and so on. The higher trim levels will add a larger 7.0-inch touchscreen, power moonroof, heated front seats, push-button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, navigation, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 8-way power driver’s seat, etc.

Release date and price

Although it is not yet officially confirmed, the 2020 Honda HR-V should arrive to the market later this year or at the beginning of 2020. The price should stay close to the current which begins at around $21,500.
