2024 Honda CR-V Preview: Features, Hybrid, Changes, Interior

Honda’s most popular SUV and one of the company’s biggest moneymakers has just been redesigned. The 2023 model brought a lot of changes and improvements, especially when it comes to aesthetics and interior design. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2024 Honda CR-V, which will represent the second production year of the generation, will come without more important changes. We expect to see the same design and features, even though some sources speculate about a new powertrain option.

In any case, you may count on an SUV that has so many great things to offer. This SUV looks nice from the outside and even nicer from the inside. The cabin doesn’t just look great but also offers plenty of space. The list of standard equipment is pretty generous, while both powertrains are quite efficient and decently capable.

As there are no significant changes to come, we believe that the 2024 Honda CR-V won’t arrive before the last quarter of the year.

2024 Honda CR-V Design

Design-wise, we definitely won’t see changes. The overall layout is about to remain the same, with all the novelties that were introduced with the redesign. The new generation brought mostly evolutionary changes in terms of mechanics, which was always one of the key aspects of the previous generations. We like the chassis and suspension setup, which offer a smooth and comfortable ride, in a combination with a pretty decent level of athleticism.

Of course, there is the new styling, which definitely won’t change for the second production year. The new generation looks more mature, with a slightly more conservative design approach. Still, there are typical Honda lines, especially at the front, where you can notice a massive grille with a mesh pattern, which looks pretty similar to other SUVs in the lineup. Eventually, the 2024 Honda CR-V could bring a few novelties, in terms of new color options or new appearance packages.

Interior

The same thing is with interior design. Since we are talking about the second production year, it’s hard to expect any bigger changes. The overall layout should remain the same, which means that we are about to see the same Civic-inspired dashboard, which looks very stylish and very elegant. It’s also easy to notice that materials and the overall build quality are at a higher level than before.

2024 Honda CR-V Interior

Traditionally, CR-V interior doesn’t just feature good quality, it’s also very spacious and very practical. The new cabin is even bigger than before and offers even more passenger space. Both rows of seats are very generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, the front seats are very comfortable and well-designed, while the driving position is excellent.

Once again, the CR-V offers one of the largest cargo areas in the class, with 39.3 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 76.5 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

Novelties on the list of standard and available equipment are possible here and there but most things will certainly remain the same. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, remote keyless entry and a moonroof. Additionally, there are upgrades like a 9-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, two second-row USB ports, wireless device charging and an eight-speaker audio system.

When it comes to safety, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Honda CR-V Engines

Under the hood, the 2024 Honda CR-V will continue with two familiar powertrain options. Base models will continue with a 1.5-liter turbo-four, which offers around 190 horsepower. The engine is coupled with a CVT and offers pretty decent performance, along with decent fuel economy..

Also, there is a hybrid version, equipped with the new system that combines a 2.0-liter inline-four with two electric motors, for a combined output of 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque.

Some sources also speculate about a more powerful version, which would compete with models like Toyota RAV4 Prime. At this point, it’s unclear whether the new version would feature a hybrid system, or we could eventually see something like a 2.0-liter turbo-four. The officials are still quiet.

Fuel Economy

With the base turbo-four engine, you may count on about 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, which is among the highest ratings in the segment.

The hybrid version is even more efficient, with an average fuel economy goes around 43 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

2024 Honda CR-V Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2024 Honda CR-V sometime in the last quarter of 2023, with a starting price of around 32.000 dollars.
