The upcoming 2020 GMC Acadia will be powered by the same engines which are found in the 2019 model year. And there are two options available. The base is a 2.5-liter inline-4 unit which is able to make 194 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. The engine will work with a 6-speed automatic transmission and will come with a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. There will also be an optional unit and it is going to be a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. This one will have the output of 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. It will also use the same transmission and will be offered with two drivetrains. Connected to front wheels, this unit will get 18/25 mpg. The all-wheel drive model will be rated at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. However, according to some sources, the new Acadia might also offer the new GM 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The exterior design of the 2020 GMC Acadia

As the second generation of this model, the 2020 GMC Acadia will continue to ride on the same GM’s C1 architecture which also underpins the Cadillac XT5 and Chevy Blazer models. However, the new GMC Acadia will get a more modern look and sleeker appearance. We can expect some significant weight savings too.

As for the exterior design, the new 2020 GMC Acadia has been spotted during its testing wearing camouflage mostly on the front end. So, there will be a new boxy grille with horizontal slats and mesh trim. There will also be a pair of angular headlights which will be completely overhauled. So, like we can conclude the new Acadia will feature a whole new front fascia with a more upright look and more square edges. On the other hand, we can expect some changes on the rear too. And those will include the new, vertical taillights alongside the new rectangular exhaust outlets. As well, it is expected to get more chrome trim.
