The 2020 Ford Flex will be available with two engine options beneath its hood, as its outgoing model. So, the base is going to be a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which will be able to make 287 horses and 254 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and there will be a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive layouts. The front-wheel drive model will be rated at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive variant is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
The next option is a 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged engine. This unit will be able to generate 365 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque. It will also work with a 6-speed automatic gearbox but it will feature steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. And the all-wheel drive system will be standard. Speaking of the fuel efficiency, it will be rated at 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
The exterior and interior design of the 2020 Ford Flex
The Flex is known for its two-box exterior design, and the 2020 Ford Flex will keep up its familiar boxy shape and angular lines. The front end will be dominated by the well-known wide and USB-like grille and a pair of rectangular headlights. Furthermore, the power tailgate will be optional on the SEL model while standard on the Limited variant. The 17-inch alloy wheels will be standard while the higher trim levels will get the larger 18-inch alloys.
Inside, the 2020 Ford Flex will have the three-row seating configuration and the second row will be available with a pair of premium chairs in the range-topping models. The 2020 Ford Flex will be offered in three trim levels. And those are the base SE, SEL, and Limited. The SEL model will add dual-zone climate control, 18-inch alloys, heated front seat, two USB ports, push-button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and universal garage-door opener. Te Limited model will also feature leather seats, navigation, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring and many other items.
