The Toyota’s excellent family hauler with an ability to place seven people, good off-roader, and good-looking Land Cruiser Prado has been significantly improved as the 2018 model year. It has gotten more luxurious and upscale interior and more modern and sharper exterior styling. As well, it offers uncompromised safety systems and generally very good equipment. This one is able to generate 271 horses and 281 lb-ft of torque. However, this unit might be discontinued for the Australian market.

Furthermore, among diesel engines, the carmaker will offer a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel. This engine is rated at 174 horses and around 332 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to either 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The last one is going to be a 3.0-liter V-6 powertrain.

Design-wise, the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado looks very handsome and attractive. Last year, the Prado has arrived with improved outward visibility and enhanced maneuverability because of the lower corners of the bumpers. The hexagonal grille has also been revised with vertical bars and openings for better cooling, and now looks bolder. As well, the front end also wears new headlamps with LED lighting. Below the grille, we will notice redesigned bumper with a more aggressive look and new fog lights. Moving to the rear fascia, there will be new taillights and a mildly redesigned bumper. The interior of the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado now looks more refined, sophisticated, and luxurious. The last year, it has gotten a revised instrument cluster alongside the new center stack and switchgear. There is a new arrangement of the buttons and controls and it is now easier to use. In the center of the dashboard, there is a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

Furthermore, the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will be available with two or three-row seating configuration. And it will be able to welcome up to seven occupants.  The base model will get standard fabric upholstery while in the higher trim levels, the Prado will get leather. There will also be an optional package for the base models will add leather trim, heated front and second rows of seats, and ventilated and power-operated front seats. The first and the second rows of seats will be comfortable and will provide good space while the third row might be better for kids. Moreover, the cargo room is very good and the second and the third row can be folded down which will significantly increase the space for luggage.

Features and safety

The base Land Cruiser Prado will come standard with fabric upholstery, push start button, central locking, floor mats, power windows, power steering, AM/FM/CD audio system, with 6 speakers, USB, Bluetooth, audio controls on the steering wheel and so on. The higher trim levels will add satellite-navigation, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, a power-folding third row, ventilated front seats, a JBL audio system, a sunroof, and many others.

As for the safety, the Prado will get autonomous emergency braking, active cruise control, auto high-beam, lane departure warning, airbags, pedestrian detection, front and rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system. The rear-cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, and multi-terrain monitor with cameras will be found in the more expensive models.

Release date and price of the 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

The carmaker hasn’t revealed the official release date of the newest 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. However, we think that it could be presented at the end of this year, or at the beginning of the next. As well, the pricing shouldn’t change much from the current which starts at around $53,500.
