2019 Nissan Rogue: Arrival, Hybrid, Review

The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover SUV which we all know for its stylish exterior and interior but also, more important, it is one of the most fuel-economical vehicles in its segment. As well, it provides an impeccable comfort and it is also very good for off-road adventures. The Rogue is available with a strong 4-cylinder engine but it also offers a hybrid engine which provides great fuel efficiency. However, for those who want more horses, then the Kia Sportage or Honda CR-V might be better options. Nevertheless, taking all the facts together, the Rogue still keeps being one of the Company’s best-selling vehicles.

The 2018 model year has finally introduced Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity for all the trim levels. As well, the brand’s ProPilot Assist autonomous technology has also been added for the first time. Furthermore, the Rogue now comes with a two-row seating configuration instead of the previous three-row and it is now the only option. However, this time we will talk about the newest 2019 Nissan Rogue which has also been announced. But, according to the latest rumors, the upcoming Rogue should feature any major changes. And, although it might be ready for a redesign, we will probably wait a year or two more.

Engines and performances

The same engine options should carry over in the new 2019 Nissan Rogue. The base is a 2.5-liter inline-4 which is able to make 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The second is a hybrid engine which combines a 2.0-liter inline-4 and electric motor. The total output of this unit is 176 horsepower. Both engines work with a continuously variable transmission. And there is a choice between front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

As for the fuel economy, the first unit gets 26/33 mpg with front-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive variant is estimated to be 25/32 mpg in the city/highway drive. On the other hand, the hybrid engine is more fuel efficient and it is rated at 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. With all-wheel drive, it gets 31/34 mpg.

Exterior and interior of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

There probably won’t be any changes applied in the 2019 Nissan Rogue in the terms of external look. It will keep its clean and handsome design, V-motion grille, and angular headlamps in a shape of a boomerang.

The interior of the 2019 Nissan Rogue will be able to carry five passengers in two rows of seats. Generally, its cabin is nicely designed, quality and comfortable. The dashboard is fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which are now standard. All the models come with power windows and locks, Bluetooth, audio system with speakers, keyless entry etc. The standard safety equipment includes six airbags, a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitors. The higher trims add navigation, alloy wheels, more speakers, adaptive cruise control, Bose audio, a panoramic moonroof, and many other more.
