Unfortunately, the Kicks hasn’t been offered with all-wheel drive layout, but according to the latest rumors, it is expected to get an optional AWD system in near future. Powertrain and performance of the 2019 Nissan Kicks
As the current model year, the 2019 Nissan Kicks will enter the market with the same engine as the current model and there is one single option for all the trim levels. It is a 1.6-liter inline-4 unit which is able to make 125 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive configuration. As for the fuel economy, the Kicks is rated at 31 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined.
Design of exterior and interior
Speaking of the external appearance, the new 2019 Nissan Kicks features a more traditional SUV looks compared to the Nissan Juke. Its design is very much based on the Kicks Concept which has been presented in 2014. The whole body features angular design. And there are a well-known V-Motion grille and angular headlights in a shape of a boomerang. Looking from the profile the Kicks looks higher because of the blacked-out window surroundings and pillars. There are also prominent wheel arches which give it more muscular appearance. Furthermore, the taillights will also have a boomerang shape as the headlights. The base model will ride on the 16-inch wheels while the higher trims will get larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the 2019 Nissan Kicks is able to welcome four adults comfortably although it comes with five seatbelts. The front seats are cozy and supportive and the rear seats offer very good head and leg room. As for the cargo, there is a room of 25.3 cubic feet. However, the second row can be folded in a split arrangement which expands the room to 53.1 cubic feet. In the center of the dash, there is a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
