The Nissan’s largest SUV which is perfect for families and hauling is set for another model year. It is a 2019 Nissan Armada. The current version has been upgraded with significant infotainment improvements and it now features a high-tech rearview mirror. So, the Armada represents the first SUV truck to be offered with this system which carmaker calls the Intelligent Rear View Mirror. However, this feature comes standard in the range-topping Platinum trim level. The Armada has been refreshed in 2017, and besides some improvements in the tech department, the 2018 model year also hasn’t brought any large changes. So, the 2019 model year will probably be a carryover and we don’t expect any radical changes too. However, this time the newest Armada might get some upgrades such as more standard safety features and infotainment changes.
Speaking of the engine, the Armada will be powered by the same V-8 engine as before and it will be the only option. The cabin will also have a three-row seating configuration and will be able to welcome up to eight passengers which makes it perfect for large families and trips. As well, it will be offered in the three trim levels including SV, SL, and Platinum.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Nissan Armada
The brand-new 2019 Nissan Armada will most likely use the same engine as its forerunner and there is one single option for all the versions. It is a 5.6-liter V-8 engine which is able to develop 390 horsepower and the torque of 394 pound-feet. It works with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, it is able to tow up to 8,500 pounds. The rear-wheel drive is standard while the all-wheel drive is also available. As for the fuel economy, the RWD version gets 14/19 mpg. With all-wheel drive configuration, this model is rated at 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
Design of exterior and interior
The 2019 Nissan Armada shouldn’t get any changes this time. Its design is characterized by rugged but elegant styling. It is a large SUV which rides on the standard 18-inch wheels while the SL and Platinum versions ride on the 20-inch wheels.
The cabin of the 2019 Nissan Armada will feature the same design and equipment as before, and the only change we might see is more standard safety features. Like we have said earlier, its interior is very spacious and also luxurious. The first and the second row provide generous space. However, the third row is a bit tight, but suitable for children. The dashboard is fitted with an 8.0-inch infotainment screen.
Among standard equipment, there are LED headlamps, Bose audio, keyless ignition, cloth upholstery, front and rear parking sensors, automatic climate control and a rearview camera. The SL trim also includes power liftgate, leather upholstery, remote start, power-folding third row etc. The Platinum adds cool front seats, active lane control, and so on.
Release date and price
There isn’t any information when the 2019 Nissan Armada should hit the market. However, the pricing should stay close to the current and it is around $46,000 for the base model.
