2019 Cadillac Escalade: ESV, Interior, Configurations

The Cadillac Escalade is still in the fourth generation, so the upcoming 2019 Cadillac Escalade will come with some minor but noticeable changes. However, for the next generation model, we will have to wait for a year or two more. The 2019 model year will get some new exterior colors and the two current shades will be deleted. Furthermore, the carmaker will introduce the new Sport package on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum trim levels. It will add some changes in the external appearance such as new wheels and some new black details.

Beneath the hood of the new 2019 Cadillac Escalade will be placed the same engine which powers the previous version. And there is one option for all the trim levels. It is a familiar 6.2-liter V-8 engine which can make 420 horses and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and comes with a rear-wheel drive system as standard. However, the Escalade is also offered with the all-wheel drive configuration. Connected to the standard front-wheel drive system, it is rated at 14 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway, and 17 mpg combined. If you chose the all-wheel drive variant, the numbers are 14 mpg in the city, 21 mpg on the highway, and 17 mpg combined. Unfortunately, the Escalade is still not available with a hybrid engine.

Design of exterior and interior

The upcoming 2019 Cadillac Escalade will continue to ride on the same GM’s GMT K2 architecture which also underpins the Chevy Suburban, Chevy Tahoe, and GMC Yukon. As well, the Escalade will be available as the standard model and an extended-length version called the Escalade ESV model. Speaking of the exterior design, the 2019 Cadillac Escalade won’t differ much from the current model and will get the same chrome grille and standard 22-inch wheels. However, this time the carmaker will remove two exterior colors and will introduce some new shades. Moreover, there will be a new Sport package available on the higher trim levels which will add black ice chrome details on the grille, lower fascia trim, and bodyside molding. Furthermore, we can expect some new designs of the wheels.

The interior of the 2019 Cadillac Escalade will be luxurious, comfortable, and well-equipped as expected. The front seats are 12-way power adjustable and provide excellent comfort at long rides. The rear seats are also pretty good although they offer more space in the ESV model, naturally. The third row can welcome three kids or two adults. Behind the third row, there is the room of 15.2 cubes; while the maximum cargo space is almost 121 cubic feet.

The standard equipment of the 2019 Cadillac Escalade includes leather seats, 12-way power front seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a Bose audio system with 16 speakers, and so on. The higher trims will add adaptive cruise control, a rear-seat Blu-ray entertainment system, and full-speed automatic emergency braking.

Release date and price

The all-new 2019 Cadillac Escalade will be revealed later this year. its starting price is expected to be around $75,200.
