The Audi manufacturer has officially confirmed the arrival of the large Q8, and the compact Q4 by the year of 2019, and the electric E-Tron model in 2020. The brand-new 2019 Audi Q4 is a compact SUV coupe which will stand between the Q3 which is set for a replacement in 2018 and the new Q5 model. As the matter of fact, the Audi Q4 is based on the newest Q3 model and will find the toughest rivals in the upcoming BMW X2, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and the Range Rover Evoque. Of course, it is going to be more expensive than the Q3 as well.
The newest Audi Q4 has been previewed as the TT Offroad concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. And it is confirmed that it is going to be produced at Audi’s plant in Gyor, in Hungary. It will share the same underpinnings with the Audi Q3, but it is going to be slightly larger than the current version of this model. However, the next generation Q3 will also grow in size. Inside, the Q4 will receive the latest tech features and a range of modern developments. In the engine department, the new Audi will get several diesel and petrol engines and most likely a plug-in hybrid unit as well.
Engines and performances of the 2019 Audi Q4
According to the latest news, the 2019 Audi Q4 will be powered by several engines. Those will include petrol and diesel 4-cylinder units. The one is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder unit and the other is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol and diesel variants. As well, there will also be the new 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine which will be able to make 400 horses and which will power the range-topping RS Q4 trim level. Furthermore, the Q4 will also receive a plug-in hybrid engine which will combine a petrol unit and an electric motor. This engine is expected to provide an all-electric range of up to 31 miles.
Design of exterior and interior
The newest 2019 Audi Q4 will ride on the MQB architecture, the same platform which underpins the second generation Audi Q3. So, how the brand-new Q3 will slightly grow in size, we expect to be the same for the Q4. Furthermore, they will also share some similarities in the exterior styling. So, we expect significantly curved roofline. The front section will feature a massive hexagonal grille and LED headlamps. On the rear, there will be large exhaust pipes and a black rear diffuser.
As assumed, the interior of the 2019 Audi Q4 will be designed like the rest of the brand’s lineup. We can expect premium materials, modern design of the cabin, and top-notch technology. The dashboard will most likely feature a large 9.2-inch touchscreen with navigation and MMI system. The new Audi will also get smartphone charging and the latest connectivity system. Furthermore, the Q4 will be able to welcome up to five passengers.
Release date and price
The 2019 Audi Q4 is expected to arrive sometime by the year of 2019. Its price will probably start at roughly $42,500.
